Sikhism’s holiest city Amritsar is in the Majha region of Punjab. It magnetises millions of pilgrims and tourists every year. The city is at the forefront of MICE travel in Punjab, owing to its untrammelled domestic and international air connectivity, railway links and roads that join it with rest of the country. Indian Railways runs around thirteen trains between Delhi and Amritsar with one of them, bi-weekly Samjhauta Express, to Lahore. Also, buses and cabs are available from Delhi and other parts to reach the holy city. It is about 450 kilometres away from Delhi and can be reached via NH44, NH9, NH54, and NH352.
